Electrify everything
that moves.

A systems engineering firm specializing in making things move — with electric motors and software. We close the loop from sensor to actuator, and take the hard problems no one else will.

01 — WHAT WE DO

We're a systems engineering firm.

Our specialty is making things move — with electric motors and software. At the core it's cybernetics: sense, compute, actuate — and close the loop. Systems engineering is the practice that holds it together — requirements, architecture, integration and V&V — so a platform behaves like one machine, not four subsystems that don't talk.

SPECIALTIES · THE DOMAINS WE INTEGRATE

Four domains we go deep in. Each is, underneath, a systems-integration project — the same practice applied to a specific kind of machine.

02 — HOW WE WORK

From whiteboard to validated hardware.

A disciplined model-based pipeline. Every stage produces something you can measure — not a slide deck. Each phase is keyed to the discipline that leads it.

03 — WHERE WE WORK

Six sectors. One loop.

The same practice — tuned to the duty cycles, standards and environment of each sector.

ON CONTROL & COMMUNICATION

Cybernetics: the science of control and communication in the animal and the machine.

— NORBERT WIENER · 1948

Every good regulator of a system must be a model of that system.

— Conant & Ashby · 1970

We are not stuff that abides, but patterns that perpetuate themselves.

— Norbert Wiener · 1950

Information is a difference that makes a difference.

— Gregory Bateson

The purpose of a system is what it does.

— Stafford Beer

Act always so as to increase the number of choices.

— Heinz von Foerster

Cybernetics treats not things but ways of behaving.

— W. Ross Ashby · 1956

Only variety can absorb variety.

— W. Ross Ashby

The best material model of a cat is another, or the same, cat.

— Rosenblueth & Wiener · 1945

The map is not the territory.

— Alfred Korzybski
04 — WHO YOU WORK WITH

Senior engineering.
No handoffs.

Astrapē is senior systems engineering, direct — no account manager, no junior bench. You work with the engineer doing the work, not a layer in front of it.

When a project needs stamped, discipline-specific depth, we bring the right licensed PE onto the bench. Senior reach, a few projects at a time — that's how the hard ones get finished.
